If you're a Velocity builder, you know what a pain laminating that huge piece of foam and cutting it into pieces is. A much better alternative is to trace out all your parts and vacuum bag them!
Vacuum bagging is the process of laminating a composite part in a vacuum bag. The part is laid up as it normally would be but instead of letting it cure in the open air, it is placed into a vacuum bag. Because the epoxy cures as a result of a chemical reaction between the resin and the hardener and not because of exposure to air, you can cure it under a vacuum. The vacuum isn't what's particular important but rather the mechanical compression you put the part under. The vacuum bag squeezes everything together making a better lamination and a lighter part due to the extra squeeze out of excess resin.
No worries! Just send us your cut out foam parts (use the Velocity templates) and send them to us! We'll cut out the composite material and laminate them for you! Turn around is about 2 weeks depending on backlog.
