Why SpiderTracks?

can push the test switch and a light flashes but can I count on it in a crash? Second, the investment
in either a 121.5 unit or 406 unit has no intrinsic value until I crash. It seems like we should expect something of value from a $500-$1000 investment Can't we do better?
